Munich Airport reports a high seat load factor of around 80 percent
Munich Airport saw stable growth in airport traffic during the first half of 2023.
Passenger numbers surged by almost 30 percent to 16.6 million, surpassing last year’s figures. This represented around 75 percent of the record achieved in 2019. The seat load factor peaked at nearly 80 percent, setting a new first-half record.
Munich Airport’s growth in airport traffic is demonstrated by a nine percent increase in aircraft movements, totalling over 140,000 registered movements compared to the previous year. Now, the airport offers flights to 200 destinations in 60 countries worldwide.
The increased air traffic at Munich Airport had a positive impact on the freight business, resulting in a growth of over four percent in the total freight volume, reaching approximately 132,000 metric tons.
