easyJet's oldest employee inspires over 45's as Cabin Crew Ambassador

easyJet is celebrating the appointment of their oldest employee, Pam Clark, as a recruitment ambassador to inspire more candidates over the age of 45 to join the cabin crew.
Clark, affectionately known as “Nana Pam” by her regular passengers, embarked on her dream career as a cabin crew member two decades ago at the age of 53.
Over the course of her 20-year tenure, Clark has served approximately 800,000 passengers on 4,500 flights, including notable figures such as premiership footballers and TV stars.
In recognition of Clark's valuable contribution, easyJet has appointed her as their over 45s recruitment ambassador. This new initiative builds upon the airline’s successful campaign to encourage career changers over the age of 45 to consider joining the cabin crew. Since 2022, easyJet has witnessed a 10 percent increase in crew members over 45 and a remarkable 160 percent rise in crew members over the age of 60.
Clark said in a July 5 press release, “My advice to anyone over the age of 45 thinking about applying for a role as cabin crew at easyJet would be to go for it. When I applied for the role 20 years ago I knew that my age and experience meant I had something really valuable to offer.”
“Nowadays, I’m meeting more and more colleagues like me who have made a brave career change later in life. Don’t be afraid!”
Clark’s appointment comes as easyJet aims to diversify its workforce and tap into the wealth of talent among older individuals. Research conducted by the airline in 2022 revealed that 78 percent of parents aged 45 and above expressed a desire to pursue new challenges once their children become independent. More than half of the surveyed British adults over 45 (57 percent) hoped to find a career they were truly passionate about.
