The codeshare agreement will allow Gulf Air to connect its network and strengthen partnerships

Gulf Air and Emirates have announced a codeshare agreement as part of a strategic partnership between the two carriers.

The collaboration aims to enhance the travel experience for passengers and increase the number of destinations accessible through Gulf Air's network. In the initial phase of the agreement, Gulf Air will add its code to multiple Emirates destinations in Europe and the Far East. This move will provide Gulf Air passengers with a wider range of travel options, including popular destinations such as Denpasar Bali, Indonesia, Brazil, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

Travellers will benefit from seamless ticketing, check-in, and baggage transfers, along with competitive fares. In addition, premium passengers will enjoy access to Emirates lounges at Dubai International Airport. Tickets for the newly added destinations are now available for booking.

“Signed during the Bahrain International Airshow in November 2022, the first phase of the codeshare agreement includes destinations in line with Gulf Air's growth strategy,” said Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer, Captain Waleed Al Alawi in a May 18 press release. “Providing additional travel options to passengers demonstrates our commitment to enriching the travel experience for millions of our passengers. Entering into this partnership with another highly reputed airline allows us to virtually expand our network, enhance our offerings and provide a more seamless travel experience. With the launch of the new partnership with Emirates, Gulf Air now has codeshare agreements with 17 airline partners.”

Recently, Gulf Air announced summer flights to Bodrum, Turkey, and increased flight frequencies to Manchester, UK, Manila, Philippines, and Bangkok, Thailand, in response to growing demand from travellers.

Established in 1950 as the Middle East's first commercial airline, Gulf Air operates scheduled flights from Bahrain International Airport (BIA) to numerous cities in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. The airline's fleet consists of both Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Gulf Air has garnered multiple accolades, including the title of "World's Most Improved Airline" at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022.
