ChangeGroup, a foreign currency and financial services provider, has announced its latest venture at Newcastle International Airport.

This strategic move is part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans for its UK operations, following successful partnerships with several prominent travel hubs including Gatwick Airport, London Stansted Airport, London Luton Airport, East Midlands Airport, and St Pancras International Railway Station in the past year.

“Newcastle International Airport is an excellent addition to our network and a very exciting location for us to be operating in,” said Sacha Zackariya, CEO and Co-Founder of ChangeGroup International, in a May 16 press release. “By securing another significant UK airport we have further established ourselves as the operator of choice for major landlords across the country. We’ve developed a fantastic partnership with Newcastle International Airport and are beyond confident that the seamless integration of our services will enrich travellers’ experience at the airport.”

ChangeGroup is set to establish two branches within Newcastle Airport: one in the departure lounge and another in the arrivals area. Additionally, the airport will house six multi-currency ATMs. These newly opened branches will offer travellers a comprehensive range of premium services. From quick access to major currencies to international bank transfers, ChangeGroup’s friendly and knowledgeable sales consultants will provide top-notch customer service, ensuring passengers’ needs are met.

To create a seamless integration with the overall terminal design, ChangeGroup has collaborated closely with Newcastle International Airport. The company has made substantial investments in the branches’ ambiance, aiming to enhance the overall airport experience. The visually striking and engaging appearance of the branches has been carefully crafted to help travellers easily locate them. State-of-the-art LED displays ensure that up-to-date and captivating messages are conveyed effectively.

Newcastle International Airport, projected to receive 4.7 million passengers in 2023, offers a wide selection of over 80 direct destinations. Additionally, it serves as a convenient one-stop connection point to various global destinations through strategic hubs like Amsterdam, London, and Dubai. With this newest addition of ChangeGroup’s currency exchange services, the airport aims to further enhance the travel experience for its passengers.

Dean Ward, Director of Commercial at Newcastle International Airport, said in the same release, “We are delighted to welcome ChangeGroup and to be part of their ambitious UK growth strategy. In recent months we have worked closely with the team to create two fantastic-looking branches in convenient locations and look forward to welcoming customers this summer. The investment from ChangeGroup is one of many exciting new developments planned across the airport in the next 12 months as we continue to improve our commercial offering.”
