The award reflects Gulf Air’s quality improvement across the entire World Airline Awards program

Gulf Air was named the World’s Most Improved Airline in 2022 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in London on Friday. The award is a testament to the strategic effort Gulf Air’s set forth in 2018 to make the airline more customer-centric.

“We are so proud and grateful for the success of our strategy, evident by winning this prestigious award,” said His Excellency Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani—the Minister of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of Gulf Air’s Board of Directors. “This was made possible due to the commitment, determination and passion of Gulf Air’s workforce and management team who are relentlessly working towards the airline’s future.”

The award reflects Gulf Air’s quality improvement across the entire World Airline Awards program and is based on an evaluation of the airline’s change in global rating and its performance across different award categories.

Captain Waleed AlAlawi, Gulf Air Acting Chief Executive Officer, said “The new look and feel for Gulf Air, alongside its new fleet, new network, and new products and services are all improvements that represent the Gulf Air of tomorrow.”

Skytrax launched its first global, annual airline customer satisfaction survey in 1999. Each year, travelers from around the world take part in the passenger satisfaction survey that determines the winner. More than 100 customer nationalities participated in the 2021-2022 survey.
