Restaurateur Jamie Oliver paid a surprise visit to staff at Jamie's Deli in September 2019

Jamie Oliver, world-renowned chef and restaurateur, surprised the staff with a visit to Jamie’s Deli at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) this month. Oliver spent the visit speaking with colleagues about their work and hearing the latest developments about the restaurant.

Jamie’s Deli at AMS is a partnership between The Jamie Oliver Group and SSP Group, operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations. SSP Group operates 15 Jamie Oliver bars and restaurants in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and the UK – with new units to open in Bahrain and Brazil.

In June, SSP Group strengthened its partnership with Jamie Oliver after taking over operations of three units at Gatwick Airport – Jamie’s Italian, Jamie’s Coffee Lounge and Jamie Oliver’s Diner.

In a September 27 statement from SSP, Oliver said: “It was fantastic to pop in and say hello to the Jamie's Deli team at Schiphol Airport. It's always such a pleasure to meet, and get a chance to chat to, staff on the ground, who work hard to bring our menus to life."
