Bottega bar brings bubbles to Bologna airport

By Jane Hobson

A Bottega Prosecco Bar has opened at Italy’s Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ).

It offers travellers a selection of Italian fine wines by the glass with small meals and snacks.

The Bottega Prosecco Bar concept launched in 2014 aboard the MS Viking Line “Cinderella” cruise ship. With more than 17 locations in total – including Milan Malpensa Airport; Burgas and Varna airports (Bulgaria); and Birmingham Airport – the establishment is meant to provide visitors to airports, resorts and shopping centres with good wine, food and “a taste of the Italian way.” Each bar offers a slightly different menu based on its location. Along with Italian plates and wines, some locations serve coffee, tea, craft beer and other pairings.

The most recent bar opened in the T3 area of Rome’s Fiumicino airport (FCO) in May.
