At this year's Skytrax World Airline Awards, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) was recognized for its Terminal E First Class Lounge at Zurich Airport (ZRH).

The airline was bestowed the “World’s Best First Class Lounge" award. The distinction was presented yesterday in a Skytrax ceremony at Le Bourget Airport as part of the 2019 Paris Air Show.

This year, the Hub Airlines of the Lufthansa Group received four first-place wins. The awards are based on a survey conducted by the Skytrax market research institute of some 20 million air travelers in over 160 countries.

“This recognition by our customers is a great honor for us,” said SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour in a press release announcing the win. “As Switzerland’s premium airline, we constantly strive to offer a first-class air travel experience. So we are especially pleased that we have evidently succeeded in doing so with our Zurich Terminal E First Class Lounge.”

The winning ZRH lounge includes a number of amenities such as a hotel room, conference room, mini-suites, a champagne bar and an à la carte restaurant. There is also a 352-square-meter terrace from which visitors can relax, watch flights land and take off and, in the winter, enjoy a fondue or raclette while taking in a view of the Swiss Alps.
