Brussels Airlines elevates inflight dining with tableware collection from deSter

Brussels Airlines updated tableware
This month, Business Class passengers on Brussels Airlines will dine on a new tableware collection from deSter, featuring organic, round shapes that create a natural and harmonious aesthetic. Crafted from fine chinaware, the pieces embody elegance, offering a luxurious dining experience at 30,000 feet.
The warm white base, complemented with a bowl featuring blue and bronze accents inspired by the Brussels Airlines uniform, is timeless. Specially designed cutlery, shaped to subtly reflect the contours of an airplane, completes the updated table setting, along with new linens made from an earthy yet elegant texture.
“We are delighted to continue our strong partnership with Brussels Airlines, having already introduced a refreshed tableware concept for their Business Class on short-haul flights in 2023,” said Tamilla Van Aerden, Business Development Manager Travel at deSter. “This new long-haul collection perfectly aligns with Brussels Airlines’ vision for a premium Business Class offering. It not only exudes elegance but also ensures practicality and durability for in-flight dining.”
A culinary philosophy at altitude
Earlier this year, the airline began a partnership with star chef Arabelle Meirlaen to further elevate the inflight culinary experience. Brussels Airlines now also looks to enhance the concept that offers guests the option to select a more elaborate cheeseboard, dessert or fresh-cut fruit after the meal. On flights to Brussels, the focus is on a seamless service and efficiency, a tailored service per destination to maximize onboard comfort.
Beyond the menu and tableware, Brussels Airlines is also elevating its service approach. Inspired by the elegance of boutique hotels, meals will be presented in a more personal, hand-delivered manner to create an intimate atmosphere.
Investing in a next-generation cabin
Brussels Airlines is also making a substantial investment in its future. From 2027, the airline will gradually introduce a new cabin across all classes. This major cabin overhaul represents an investment of more than US$108 million (€100 million). The airline also plans to renovate THE LOFT airport lounge to offer passengers a more comfortable and stylish pre-flight experience.
“At Brussels Airlines, we believe that travel is about more than just reaching your destination, it’s about creating unforgettable moments. Our new tableware collection is designed to enhance the onboard dining experience, combining elegance with functionality. By partnering with top Belgian culinary talents and using the finest ingredients, we aim to turn dining into a highlight of the journey. We are also offering more than just a service, we see it as an opportunity for our guests to connect with the crew in a personal and memorable way. This refined dining concept, reflects our dedication to offering the highest standards of comfort, sophistication, and hospitality,” said Sandy Coenen, Inflight Product Manager, Brussels Airlines.
