Linstol unveils paper cup designed for cold inflight beverages
Linstol has announced a paper cup innovation designed for cold beverages inflight, called the Super Cool Cup. In the press release, Linstol said it is building upon the patent-protected technology of the original Super Cup for hot beverages with this latest iteration.
The Super Cool Cup leverages Smart Planet Technologies' patent-pending mineralized barrier coating technology to create an eco-friendly paper cup that is:
- Sustainable: Linstol’s Super Cool Cups reduce plastic content by 40 percent compared to conventional paper cup options
- Recyclable and compostable: The cups use biobased plastic for the mineralized coating, making them recyclable and compostable. They are designed to be universally recyclable in existing paper recycling systems
- Convenient for inflight use: The cups are stackable and designed to maximize galley cart space
Linstol’s Super Cool Cups are designed for airlines to replace their traditional plastic cups with paper-based solutions. The mineralized coating in Super Cups offers what Linstol calls the “lowest plastic content in the industry.”
"We are proud to partner with Smart Planet Technologies to unlock the potential of sustainable innovation in air travel," said Mark Russell, CEO, Linstol. “The Super Cup brought the most sustainable approach for the coffee cup. Now with the patent-pending coating technology to serve alcoholic drinks in paper cups, the entire cold beverage service can be moved from 100 percent plastic to a recyclable, compostable, and biobased paper cup.”
"We are reaching new goals for what it means to provide responsible, comfortable journeys for passengers and a cleaner future for our skies."
