deSter and Norse Atlantic Airways unveil sustainable tableware
deSter has announced a partnership with Norse Atlantic Airways to bring sustainable tableware to the airline's Premium Class. The alliance between the two companies speaks to their joint commitment to environmental responsibility while enhancing the inflight experience, the press release said.
“By partnering with Norse Atlantic Airways we showcase our commitment to combining innovation with sustainability and setting a new benchmark for environmentally-friendly travel experiences. I am very proud of the products we have introduced, especially our wet-molded casseroles, bowls, and lids. deSter has been investing a lot in wet molded fibre, and it's great to see that this is becoming a preferred eco-friendly, disposable solution for airlines,” said Tamilla Van Aerden, Business Development Manager Travel Europe.
The tableware setup features wet-molded fibre (bagasse) casseroles with lids and bowls, complemented by bamboo cutlery. A durable, reusable tray is also part of the arrangement in Norse Atlantic's Premium Class service. The tableware collection also includes a 100 percent paper cup, certified by Flustix, eliminating plastic components.
"It has been a great experience working with deSter to introduce our passengers to this new sustainable tableware,” said Sharon Banga, Head of Inflight Services at Norse Atlantic Airways. “Recently, we have refreshed our Norse Premium cabin, elevating the passenger experience. Dining is a significant part of that experience, and we are thrilled that we can now make it more sustainable without compromising quality, usability or design."
