AMI Group welcomes award-winning Sommelier Rachael Lowe to wine sourcing team
Award-winning sommelier, Rachael Lowe joins the AMI Group Wine Sourcing team
AMI Group has welcomed award-winning sommelier, Rachael Lowe to its Wine Sourcing team.
Lowe brings more than 20 years in the hospitality industry to the role. She earned her Advanced Sommelier certification via The Court of Master Sommeliers in 2009 and in 2010 received the Jean Banchet Top Sommelier Award. Lowe was also named the 2016 Food & Wine Magazine Sommelier of the Year and was a 2019/2020 James Beard Finalist in the Outstanding Wine Program.
She attributes her passion for wine and hospitality to her upbringing.
"I grew up in a family where dinner around the table was a daily ritual, and wine was always a natural part of that experience," Lowe said.
Her philosophy as a Sommelier centers on balance, creativity, humility and storytelling.
"Wine is so much more than what is inside the bottle. Behind every wine is history, family, terroir, tradition and a sense of place. The best wine programs do not just serve wine. They create moments people remember," Lowe said.
As for what drew her to AMI Group, Lowe immediately took an interest in the nuance of sourcing wine for the travel industry.
"What immediately drew me in was the people, the culture and the breadth of the work. It genuinely felt like I had found a place where I belonged," she said.
