Anuvu is helping airlines as they navigate the shift from geostationary (GEO)-based satellites to modern low-earth orbit (LEO)

Anuvu is showcasing its latest connectivity capabilities and content relationships with leading airlines at the 2023 Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg.

Uniquely offering a combination of inflight entertainment and connectivity, Anuvu seamlessly merges the two to provide passengers with an unparalleled digital experience throughout their journey.

“Our future-proof technologies ensure airlines can offer effortless connectivity and personalized entertainment options, as well as receive valuable insights into passenger preferences,” said Mike Pigott, Anuvu’s Executive Vice President, Connectivity, in a June 1 press release. “Airlines can rely on Anuvu’s expertise and proven track record to integrate world-class content and connectivity as they enhance their overall passenger experience offerings.”

The company is also helping airlines as they navigate the shift from geostationary (GEO)-based satellites to modern low-earth orbit (LEO) platforms through their hybrid “Bridge-to-LEO” strategy. This strategy aims to minimize expenses by ensuring compatibility between current hardware investments and upcoming LEO systems, requiring only minor equipment modifications as these systems develop and gain more prominence in the market.

“Customers look to us to provide them with the latest technology to optimize their fleet while gaining access to targeted and affordable capacity,” Pigott added. “Anuvu’s unique Bridge-to-LEO strategy and open architecture network can easily transition customers to make simple equipment changes as new technology becomes available.”

To reinforce its hybrid strategy, Anuvu is preparing for the launch of two initial MicroGEO satellites in the Anuvu Constellation in 2023. These satellites will revolutionize the availability of affordable, flexible, and targeted capacity in the GEO orbit.

The Anuvu Constellation is set to enhance the current portfolio of leased and owned GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit) capacity held by the company, which covers the entire globe. These smaller satellites, developed in collaboration with Astranis Space Technologies and utilizing state-of-the-art digital technologies, bring about improved financial efficiency and flexibility. Initially, the deployment of two satellites will primarily serve aviation and maritime customers in North America and the Caribbean. This expansion opens up a range of opportunities for enhanced connectivity in these specific regions.

“Anuvu is helping to shape a world where content and connectivity merge, personalization is key, and advanced data analysis is driving strategy. We are proud to be the only content partner with the technology, creativity and local expertise to serve our clients’ needs today and well into the future,” said Estibaliz Asiain, Anuvu’s Senior Vice President, Media & Content, in the same release.
