Foodfolk has officially opened its Melbourne facility, marking a significant milestone for the Australian owned family business and reinforcing its commitment to the aviation industry.
Founded in Perth in 1998 as Perth Inflight Catering, Foodfolk has grown from its Western Australian roots into one of Australia's leading providers of inflight catering and patient meal services. The Melbourne facility represents the next stage of that journey, bringing together almost three decades of experience, innovation and operational excellence, the press release said.
Foodfolk established its Melbourne presence two years ago through a successful partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines. Since then, the business has continued to strengthen its position in one of Australia's most important aviation markets. The opening of its permanent facility marks the end of a temporary operating arrangement and the beginning of a new chapter, with the Melbourne team now united under one roof.
Located in Tullamarine, the facility has been designed to support safe, diverse and high quality inflight catering. Its location provides direct access to Melbourne Airport, allowing Foodfolk's fleet to reach airport security gates in under ten minutes while avoiding major traffic corridors, helping deliver greater reliability and responsiveness for airline customers.
The opening comes at an exciting time for the business, following Foodfolk's appointment as catering partner for Philippine Airlines in both Perth and Melbourne.
