Delta Air Lines recently hosted media and content creators in Buenos Aires for a closer look at Delta Premium Select, showcasing how comfort, service and gastronomy come together on its long-haul flights.
Food was a central part of the event, giving attendees the opportunity to sample gategourmet's culinary concept currently served onboard and learn more about the work behind each meal.
Delta Premium Select offers passengers additional space, greater recline and adjustable leg and footrests, alongside priority services, enhanced amenities, Delta Studio entertainment and fast, free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members.
Local flavors
For flights departing Argentina, Delta’s menus combine the airline’s global standards with local culinary identity. The Premium Select menu rotates every three months, with dishes inspired by flavours and traditions from across the country.
At the event, guests sampled roasted chicken with smoked criolla sauce, northern-style humita, grilled spring onion and peppers, alongside mushroom and pumpkin ravioli with spinach and basil sauce, roasted mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.
As Cristian Ruiz Werbach, Product Development Manager at gategourmet, explained, the aim is to bring recognizable Argentine flavours onboard — from ingredients associated with the northwest of the country to the tradition of sharing pasta with family on a Sunday in Buenos Aires.
Fresh, locally sourced ingredients help give the menus their regional character while meeting Delta’s requirements for quality and service.
A partnership built over time
In Argentina, gategourmet has supported Delta since the airline began operating in the country 25 years ago.
The Buenos Aires event brought that collaboration to life, with Delta representatives joined by Lorena Garea, Commercial Director at gategourmet and Cristian Ruiz Werbach to share how locally inspired ideas are developed into an onboard dining experience.
"As Delta continues to evolve its premium offering in Argentina, we are proud to support the journey behind the scenes — bringing together local culinary expertise and operational precision to help deliver the Delta Premium Select experience," gategroup said in its press release.
