SWISS launches digital inflight menus with pre-order option

SWISS is rolling out digital platform allowing passengers to preview onboard dining and select meals in advance
Travelers on SWISS can now view inflight culinary offerings ahead of departure, following the launch of digital menus available via the SWISS app and swiss.com for all cabins and flights.
The feature allows passengers to explore onboard F&B options up to six weeks before departure, offering what the airline describes as a “pre-taste” of the journey. The menus can be accessed without a booking code, making them publicly available to support trip planning and inflight anticipation.
For passengers who enter their booking details, the platform unlocks additional functionality depending on route and travel class, including the ability to pre-select or pre-order meals ahead of departure.
Heike Birlenbach, Chief Customer Officer at SWISS, said the move responds directly to passenger demand for greater transparency around inflight service.
“Many of our guests tell us that they would like to know in advance what they can expect on their flight, just as they may check out a restaurant’s menu online before dining there,” she said. “With our digital menus, we are giving them greater transparency here, along with even more reason to look forward to their coming SWISS travel experience.”
The airline said that premium cabin passengers in SWISS Premium Economy, SWISS Business and SWISS First can access an expanded or guaranteed meal selection up to 24 hours prior to departure. On most short-haul routes, SWISS Economy passengers are also able to pre-order meals up to 36 hours before departure.
All inflight dining information is consolidated within the ‘SWISS Culinary Journey’ platform, accessible via the Meal function in the SWISS app or directly at swiss.com/menu. The airline said the initiative is designed to streamline meal selection and improve planning convenience while maintaining printed inflight menus onboard as a complementary option.
