GIC International Catering opens Munich location

GIC International Catering opens second location
After more than 25 years of delivering customized inflight dining, GIC International Catering (GIC) is expanding beyond its headquarters in Kelsterbach near Frankfurt Airport to Munich. A facility near the airport—capable of producing 20,000 meals a day—is set to open on July 1. The independent airline caterer is investing approximately €1.8 million (US$2.1 million) in the development of its second location. In addition to high-quality standards for airline meals, GIC places particular emphasis on sustainable and efficient processes.
Strategic growth reflects airline demand
GIC’s move into Bavaria marks a major milestone in its growth strategy, expanding its presence to another key aviation hub in Germany. With airlines increasingly seeking a single catering partner for both Frankfurt and Munich, the location allows GIC to deliver seamless service—building on its work with carriers such as Uzbekistan Airways and Somon Air and supporting a network of more than 20 airlines.
CEO of GIC Göksel Yildir said, “We want to continue our success story, which is why the decision to open a second branch in Munich is the next logical step. At Germany’s second-largest airport, we see strong potential to optimally serve both existing and new customers. At the same time, we are also evaluating additional locations, including Berlin and international markets, but our initial focus is on successfully establishing operations in Munich.”
