Foodfolk is celebrating the one-year anniversary of its partnership with Royal Brunei Airlines, a collaboration that began with the launch of catering operations out of Melbourne Airport in 2024.
The milestone represents a significant step in Foodfolk’s strategic expansion into the Australian market. Partnering with Royal Brunei Airlines—the award-winning carrier known for its high standards of service—has been both a privilege and a testament to Foodfolk’s commitment to quality, reliability and operational excellence, the caterer tells PAX International.
Over the past year, Foodfolk and Royal Brunei have collaborated to deliver high-quality inflight meals, navigate operational challenges and build a partnership grounded in mutual trust and shared values.
“It feels like only yesterday we began operations at Melbourne Airport,” says Salim Hazife, Managing Director at Foodfolk Australia. “We are deeply grateful to Royal Brunei Airlines for placing their trust in us.”
Looking ahead, Foodfolk Australia is preparing to open its new Melbourne facility in January 2026. Designed to support both airline and non-airline clients, the 100 percent Halal-certified facility will have the capacity to produce 12,000 meals per day, setting a new benchmark for service and culinary innovation in the region.
As Foodfolk continues to grow its footprint in Australia, the partnership stands as a strong example of what is possible when values align and teams collaborate with purpose, the company says, adding that, “The future is bright, and Foodfolk remains committed to delivering excellence at every altitude.”
