Delta Air Lines updates onboard menu
Delta Air Lines is introducing a selection of new inflight menu offerings this year, including Tip Top Margaritas (from Tip Top Proper Cocktails) and international dishes from acclaimed chefs Peter Cho and Mashama Bailey.
“We want our onboard food and beverage service to be as exciting as the destinations to which we fly,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, S.V.P of Inflight Service at Delta. “In addition to ensuring our products are delicious and served with care, we want to continually surprise and delight our frequent flyers with new food and beverage offerings for every palate.”
Along with Chefs Cho and Bailey, LA-based Chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, Danny Meyer’s Union Square Events, and other celebrated chefs join Delta’s Culinary Council in 2024.
Updated inflight meal offerings
Delta One passengers, flying Delta Air Lines from Incheon to the United States, now have a chance to experience the dishes of Peter Cho, executive chef and owner of Han Oak, Toki and Jeju restaurants and James Beard Award finalist. Cho is serving up a modern take on Korean favourites such as Korean braised beef short rib with mixed rice, mushroom, broccoli and sweet soy sauce, kimchee, doenjang soup with soybean paste, vegetarian bao bun with curried potato salad and pickled cucumbers and more.
Travellers flying in Domestic First Class (flights more than 900 miles) on Delta Air Lines in 2024 departing from Atlanta can experience the work of Chef Mashama Bailey. Bailey is the winner of the 2022 James Beard Foundation’s “Outstanding American Chef” award and Executive Chef and co-founder of The Grey, an award-winning restaurant in Savannah.
Bailey’s breakfast options on the menu include scrambled eggs with hashbrown cake and chicken sausage gravy, frittata with spiced tomato sauce, fingerling potatoes and bell peppers or Grey Market pecan granola with mixed berry compote and almond milk.
Lunch and dinner entrées include beef short ribs from Atlanta-based Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, glazed smoked chicken with quinoa salad, or baked mac-n-cheese with toasted garlic breadcrumbs and broccoli.
Delta One passengers travelling on select international flights will have the chance to try Chef Bailey’s creole shrimp with creamy grits and tomato gravy.
The airline will soon allow Delta Premium Select passengers to personalize their experience onboard with pre-selection of meals before departure. These changes to the DPS service will roll out in March.
