Qatar Airways introduces organic food choices and more onboard for EXPO 2023 Doha
Special a la carte menu items for business class passengers as part of the celebrations
Qatar Airways is partnering with local farms and Evergreen Organics to curate its EXPO 2023 Doha à la carte menu special, the airline announced in a November 30 press release. These additions to the menu will be available for passengers travelling from Doha until March 2024. Qatar Airways is the official Airline and Strategic Partner of EXPO 2023 Doha.
The à la carte menu features a Super Food Salad made from organic ingredients sourced from Safwa, a Qatari farm and subsidiary of Alfardan Group. The farm’s priority is providing top-quality local produce.
Passengers travelling in Qatar Airways’ Business Class will have the option to try bespoke beverages inspired by the Horticultural Expo. The drinks are created by health food expert, Ghanim Al Sulaiti from Evergreen Organics.
Passengers travelling in Economy Class will also have a chance to embrace the EXPO celebrations with cutlery bands showcasing the event’s colours and dessert options adored with a chocolate disk featuring the event logo.
The celebration of the Horticultural EXPO goes beyond inflight food and beverages. Oryx One Inflight Entertainment will present a trailer video of the Horticultural EXPO to passengers inflight to promote the event. There will also be an EXPO channel available onboard where passengers can watch more than 30 gardening-related shows.
Oryx One Expo Channel's line-up in support of the event includes: Homegrown, Martha Knows Best, Learning From Nature, Container Garden, Agritech and the Future of Farming, How to Save a City, The Future of Water, The Plastic Predicament, Vegetable Garden and more.
EXPO 2023 Doha takes place from October 2023 to March 2024 at Al Bidda Park. The event is expected to attract around three million international visitors over the course of its six-month run. The EXPO features beautiful gardens, talks, art, cuisine and an emphasis on combatting desertification.
The airline invites visitors to the “Qatar Airways Garden” attraction, part of Expo 2023 Doha. The garden is “Inspired by global botanical marvels, with a special nod to the timeless Gardens of Versailles, the garden is an exquisite blend of Qatar's modern spirit and its cherished traditions,” the airline said in its press release.
