NotCo features food products at APEX/IFSA EXPO

LSG Group’s new partnership with the NotCo was on display at this year’s APEX/IFSA EXPO as representatives of the company handed out samples of a brownie made without dairy and other products in its portfolio that serve as meat substitutes.

The brownies were made at the LSG Group catering unit in Los Angeles and were tested and developed at the facility in Dallas.

NotCo is a Chilean food tech company specializing in plant-based alternatives to animal-based products. It was founded in 2015 by Matias Muchnick, Pablo Zamore and Karim Pichara. It uses machine learning to replicated dairy products in plant-based forms.

LSG Group has also scored other sales in the United States. Recently, signing a partnership agreement with Juan Valdez Café to add their 100 percent Colombian gourmet coffee to the Portfolio of Retail inMotion the LSG Group Onboard Retail company. The new coffee will soon be offered on flights with other Retail inMotion customers.

Juan Valdez Café is supplied by a group of more than 550,000 small coffee farms in Colombia. The company has a sustainability focus on giving back to their communities and supporting women-owned businesses.

LSG Group worked with Juan Valdez Coffee to develop a specialty roast that works well in the cabin environment. Mir Khan, Head of Onboard Retail in North America says the blend has increased coffee grains by 40 percent to produce a buttery tasting blend with a smooth finish.
