Air France announces new à la carte menu
Air France has announced its partnership with FAUCHON, a French company specializing in gourmet and delicatessen foods, on its new à la carte long-haul menu.
The Parisian company's executive chef, Sébastien Monceaux, created the menu for Air France, complete with an appetizer, main dish, cheese and dessert. The new Spring/Summer menu will fly from April until September 2019; passengers can now pre-order the selection as an alternative to the regular onboard menu when booking flights via the carrier's website. The FAUCHON menu can be purchased for 28 euros (US$32) including VAT, or 8,500 Flying Blue Miles.
The Spring/Summer menu (pictured above) includes:
- Starter: Scallops with citrus fruit and red onion pickle
- Main dish: Guinea fowl fillet and rosemary juice with a carrot, coconut and coriander puree
- Cheese: Camembert with strawberry chutney
- Dessert: Pistachio, raspberry and lemon macaroons
The FAUCHON à la carte Autumn/Winter menu (pictured above) will fly from October 2019 to March 2020 and includes:
- Starter: Cream of artichoke soup with a creamy herb, chicken and foie gras sauce
- Main dish: Pan-fried scallops in a citrus fruit sauce and bulgur wheat with spices
- Cheese: Comté served with curried pineapple chutney
- Dessert: Caramel éclair by François Daubinet, FAUCHON's pastry chef
Air France Premium Economy and Economy customers can opt to purchase meals from a selection of six à la carte menus at a cost of 12 to 28 euros including VAT, or between 4,000 and 8,500 Flying Blue Miles. Meals can be ordered online 90 days before a guest's flight and up to 24 hours before departure.
Beginning April 1, the following five menus are available on flights from Paris:

- Tradition Menu
- “My Fun Menu”
The following three menus are available on departure from French Overseas Departments, USA, Canada, Africa and Asia:
- Ocean Menu
