Air India brought in Indian art and wellness inspiration for its latest amenities and loungewear

Air India is introducing amenity kits and loungewear inspired by Indian art, textile craftsmanship and wellness traditions on its international network starting this month. The collection includes a collaboration with Forest Essentials, Gond artwork for First Class, gem-inspired Business Class kits and loungewear featuring details drawn from Kullu weaving.

The airline will offer the refreshed amenities on flights exceeding eight hours and overnight flights longer than six hours. The rollout spans First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy, with loungewear available in First and Business Class.

The collection combines skincare and fragrance with reusable bags, travel essentials and story cards explaining the cultural influences behind the designs.

Gond art takes flight
In First Class, amenity kits from The Art of Flight collection feature original artwork created exclusively for Air India by Gond artist Dwarka Paraste. The motifs draw on nature, movement and discovery.

Passengers departing India will receive Ivory Cream kits, while passengers arriving in the country will receive Antique White kits. Air India plans to refresh the artwork and color palette every six months, developing the offering into a collectible series.

Each kit contains Forest Essentials skincare and fragrance in a satin pouch. The selection includes Light Day Lotion with SPF 30, Facial Tonic Mist, Lip Cream, Ultra-Rich Body Milk and intense perfume. Socks, an eye mask, ear plugs, a dental kit, a hair tie and an artwork story card complete the contents.

Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer, Air India, said, “At Air India, every element of the journey is an opportunity to make our guests feel cared for, comfortable and connected to the warmth of India. Our new amenity kits and loungewear have been thoughtfully designed to go beyond functionality, weaving together India's rich traditions of art, craftsmanship and wellness with the expectations of the modern global traveler. From Gond art and the colours of the Navratna to Kullu weaving and Ayurvedic wellbeing, these collections tell uniquely Indian stories while elevating the onboard experience. As we continue to transform Air India into a world-class global airline, we are creating experiences that allow guests to take a meaningful piece of India with them wherever they travel.”

Gem-inspired design and wellness touches
Business Class passengers will receive kits from the Navratna Collection, which takes inspiration from the nine gems of Indian tradition through a palette of nine colors.

Air India’s signature Jharoka-shaped bag, crafted in premium PU leather, will come in Coral on departures from India and Ruby on arrivals. Inside, a satin pouch holds Forest Essentials Lip Cream, Ultra-Rich Body Milk and intense perfume. The kit also includes socks, an eye mask, ear plugs, a dental kit, a hair tie and a story card.

Both First and Business Class kits will include a handcrafted Ayurvedic Marma massager made from 100 percent natural wood. Air India describes the addition as a first-of-its-kind inclusion in an airline amenity kit. A dedicated story card explains the Indian wellness tradition behind the massager.

In Premium Economy, passengers will receive a reusable Air India-branded bag containing The Indian Apothecary hand cream and lip balm, socks, an eye mask and a story card.

Kullu craftsmanship informs cabin comfort
The new First and Business Class loungewear draws on Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu craft and shawl-weaving tradition. Subtle woven geometric detailing appears on the placket and hem of a Henley-style top, with corresponding details on the drawstring and side placket of the bottoms.

The gender-neutral collection combines soft fabric, a relaxed silhouette and understated Air India branding. Four sizes, including a newly introduced XXL, will give passengers more sizing options.

Each set comes in a bespoke carry bag with a story card celebrating Kullu craftsmanship. Air India is also changing its carpet slippers from gray to beige to complement the loungewear palette.

Through the collection, Air India brings Indian cultural references into practical onboard products, with reusable kits and loungewear designed for passengers to continue using after the flight.
