Linstol launches Forever Weave to advance circular textile solutions for aviation

Linstol is strengthening its sustainability strategy with the launch of Forever Weave, a new initiative developed in partnership with RE&UP to transform end-of-life textiles into high-quality recycled yarn for inflight products.
Announced April 2, the program introduces a circular approach to textile production, addressing the growing challenge of waste across global supply chains. By leveraging advanced sorting and recycling technology, Forever Weave converts discarded materials such as blankets, bedding and garments into premium yarn ready for reuse in new onboard textiles.

With an estimated 82 percent of global textile waste currently ending up in landfill or incineration, the initiative represents a shift toward more sustainable lifecycle management in the aviation sector. Linstol’s approach centres on recovering, recycling and reusing materials without compromising product quality or performance.
“Forever Weave represents a fundamental shift in how we think about textile waste,” said Nicky Upton, Director of Textiles at Linstol. “By turning end-of-life blankets and bedding back into high-quality yarn, we’re reducing environmental impact while creating a truly circular solution for our customers.”
The initiative aligns with increasing demand from airlines for more sustainable onboard products and supply chain transparency. By eliminating reliance on virgin materials, including plastic-based inputs, Forever Weave supports carriers looking to reduce their environmental footprint while maintaining premium passenger experiences.
Through its collaboration with RE&UP, Linstol aims to scale textile circularity across aviation, offering airlines a practical pathway to integrate recycled materials into onboard soft goods, including blankets and other comfort items.
