The vintage luggage tag for Million Milers

Alaska Airlines has partnered with MotoArt Studios to turn pieces of aviation history into unique art pieces for loyal travellers. The airline is sending its Million Milers a luggage tag cut from vintage aircraft as a special holiday gift.

The Two Million Milers are also receiving a special something this holiday season: a luggage tag cut from one of the airline’s Golden Nugget-era jets, which flew in the 60s and 70s. The idea for the tags, conceived by Derrick Cunningham, Principal Product Manager, Elite Loyalty Program, Alaska Airlines, is one that takes frequent fliers back to the airline's quirky roots in the gold rush.

"Gifting a piece of aviation history wouldn't have been possible without our fantastic partnership with MotoArt Studios, not to mention the support from my teammates at Alaska Airlines. It's fun hustling with them to create remarkable experiences for our guests," wrote Alaska Airline's Derrick Cunningham in a LinkedIn post on December 16.

“On behalf of all of us at APEX/IFSA, here’s to a job well done! I want one to share with other airlines what the world looks like when you take something from idea to perfection,” commented Dr. Joe Leader, APEX/IFSA CEO, on the post.

The vintage tags serve as a way to memorialize historic pieces of the airline’s fleet while also rewarding its most loyal frequent flyers.
