Rossiya Airlines CEO steps down
With the approval of the airline's Board of Directors, Rossiya Airlines CEO Dmitry Saprykin has stepped down from his position three months ahead of the expiration of his contract. Sergey Alexandrovsky, Deputy CEO for Sales and Property, has been named acting CEO.
Saprykin led Rossiya since November 2015, when Aeroflot Group began integrating a number of regional carriers, including Donavia and Orenair, under the Rossiya banner. The new brand launched nationwide in March 2016.
According to a press release from Aeroflot, Rossiya was the second largest carrier in Russia in 2017.
“The outstanding qualities of Rossiya’s management team are its youth, understanding of contemporary trends and high level of professionalism,” Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev stated in the release. “Dmitry Saprykin not only combined all of these qualities, but was able to create an efficient, creative and innovative team capable of delivering against highly challenging tasks. I have no doubt that a manager of his class will find success in any area of business that he chooses to pursue.”
