Two new airline contracts for Newrest
Newrest will provide British Airways with catering services from Gatwick Airport (LGW) beginning in 2020. The contract spans 10 years, during which time the onboard caterer will serve approximately 15 long-haul and 55 short-haul flights per day. The company has also invested in a new facility at LGW that will open in the third quarter of 2019.
Olivier Sadran and Jonathan Stent-Torriani, co-CEOs of Newrest Group, commented on the contract in a statement: “Our UK team has proven results in delivering smooth and seamless catering transitions and operational excellence. We are committed to providing BA’s customers innovative, top quality products and services from our new Gatwick facility."
Newrest's deal with Air Canada will have it serving the airline out of Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport starting December 1. Newrest has been working within Canada since 2009 and currently operates out of Toronto, Calgary and Montreal.
A new catering facility in Dorval, near Montreal, will open in November and will serve around 20 long-haul and 60 short- and medium-haul flights out of the airport each day once the contract commences.
Sadran and Stent-Torriani noted: “We are honored to have been chosen to serve Air Canada at the station where they are headquartered and thankful for their trust and commitment towards extending our partnership. We are committed to providing Air Canada’s customers with top quality products and services from our new Montreal facility.”
