American Airlines unveils retrofitted 777-300ER with Flagship Suites

American Airlines has launched its first retrofitted 777-300ER, featuring the Flagship Suite® experience.
“Our Flagship® aircraft represents the next evolution of premium travel at American,” said American’s Chief Commercial Officer Nat Pieper. “With elegantly designed interiors and spacious premium seating, the Boeing 777-300ER reflects our continued commitment to creating a travel experience around what customers value most.”
American’s 777-300ER fleet of 20 aircraft operates on the airline’s most popular long-haul routes with the first flight taking off on September 2.
Designed for elevated travel
With the 777-300ER, American offers more opportunities for passengers to travel in premium classes, with 144 premium seats from which to choose. The retrofitted aircraft has 70 Flagship Suite® seats with privacy doors, more personal storage space and a unique chaise lounge seating position. It also features 44 Premium Economy seats, redesigned with sculpted headrests, adjustable calf and foot rests and enhanced storage, plus 30 extra legroom seats in Main Cabin Extra.
The updated interiors on the 777-300ER bring together cabin design elements introduced on the premium-configured 787-9 and A321XLR that debuted last year. With thoughtful textures, enhanced lighting and functional comfort throughout the aircraft, every detail is designed to make the journey more comfortable and enjoyable for passengers, the September 2 press release said.
Flagship experience
Passengers traveling in the Flagship® cabin can experience luxury from the start of their travel journey with Priority check-in, security, boarding and baggage handling. Once at the airport, travelers can enjoy access to the Flagship® lounge, where available, and sip from a curated list of wine and spirits and indulge in chef-curated dishes. American also recently announced expanded access to its premier Flagship® Dining to all Flagship® passengers.
Once onboard, Flagship Suite® service offers a multicourse dining experience curated to pair with award-winning wines, American’s premium amenity kits and bedding designed for relaxation, including a mattress pad and cool-touch dual-sided pillow.
Those opting for Premium Economy can enjoy enhanced comfort and additional privacy along with wireless charging, water bottle storage and USB-C and AC power, providing a place for everything during their travel journey. Passengers traveling in Main Cabin can access hundreds of entertainment titles with the latest inflight entertainment technology.
AAdvantage® members can stream, work and stay connected from gate-to-gate as every 777-300ER will be equipped with free high-speed inflight Wi-Fi, sponsored by AT&T.
As American rolls out its Flagship Suite® product, Flagship® First will no longer be available for purchase on 777-300ER aircraft for travel beginning November 19. With more A321XLR aircraft entering American’s fleet, Flagship® First will no longer be available for purchase on transcontinental routes for travel beginning March 28, 2027.
