Etihad upgrades Mumbai and New Delhi routes with A321LR premium experience

Etihad’s A321LR First Suite transforms into a fully flat bed, offering privacy, comfort and premium inflight rest
Etihad Airways is enhancing its premium offering on routes between Abu Dhabi and India, introducing its A321LR on services to Mumbai and New Delhi.
The aircraft will operate twice daily on each route, complementing two daily wide-body flights and ensuring that all premium passengers traveling between the cities experience lie-flat seating and direct aisle access.
The move marks a significant upgrade for the airline’s India network, where it serves 11 destinations and continues to invest in product consistency across its fleet.
“This is a major upgrade on our flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and New Delhi, which demonstrates our commitment to the strategically important Indian market,” said Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, in a statement.
He added that premium passengers will benefit from a consistent First and Business experience when connecting to long-haul destinations including London, Paris, Zurich, Geneva, New York and Toronto.
The A321LR introduces a new onboard product for narrow-body operations, including two private First Suites with sliding doors, fully flat beds and 20-inch 4K screens. The suites also feature wireless charging, Bluetooth connectivity and space for companion dining.
In Business, the aircraft is equipped with 14 lie-flat seats in a 1-1 configuration, all offering direct aisle access, alongside upgraded dining and service.
The Economy cabin includes 144 seats with ergonomic design and seatback 4K touchscreens, offering a wide selection of inflight entertainment content.
Etihad is also enhancing the ground experience for premium passengers, with First Deluxe and Business Deluxe passengers receiving chauffeur services, while First passengers gain access to concierge support and meet-and-assist services at the airport.
The A321LR is already in service on routes such as Kolkata and will now extend Etihad’s premium narrow-body experience across key Indian markets.
