Geven has secured a major agreement with Wizz Air to equip the carrier’s A321neo fleet with its lightweight Eva seats, marking the latest phase in a long-standing partnership between the two companies.

The deal covers nearly 200 shipsets, representing close to 45,000 seats, and is aimed at delivering a more consistent and efficient cabin experience across Wizz Air’s expanding narrow-body fleet.

Designed specifically for high-density aircraft, the Eva seat is positioned as one of the lightest models on the market. Built with a passenger-focused approach, the seat combines optimized living space with ergonomic comfort, targeting the operational and spatial challenges typical of low-cost, high-capacity cabins.

Lightweight design meets high-density demand

A key feature of the Eva platform is its full composite backrest, which increases knee clearance for passengers. The seat also incorporates a lightweight structural cushion that removes the need for a traditional seat pan, contributing to both weight reduction and improved comfort.

For Wizz Air, the emphasis on weight plays a central role in its broader efficiency strategy. Lighter seats translate into lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions, aligning with the airline’s sustainability targets while maintaining operational performance.

“The selection of Eva seats supports our strategy of combining efficiency with an enhanced passenger experience,” said Julia Brix, Supply Chain Officer at Wizz Air. “Lightweight design and emission reduction are key priorities, and this solution meets both without compromise.”

Balancing cost, comfort and sustainability

In addition to weight savings, the Eva seat is designed for simplified maintenance and lower cost of ownership through a streamlined, durable structure. Sustainability is also embedded in the product’s design philosophy, with the goal of reducing overall environmental impact across the aircraft lifecycle.

Geven said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on innovation in high-density cabin environments.

“Eva is designed to offer exceptional comfort while meeting the stringent operational and efficiency needs of modern airlines,” said Pasquale Rapullini, Sales and Business Development Manager at Geven.

Tailored to brand identity

Beyond performance, the seats will feature a customized trim and finish tailored to Wizz Air’s brand, incorporating bold colours and a bespoke Italian design aesthetic intended to reinforce the airline’s visual identity onboard.

With the rollout of Eva across its A321neo fleet, Wizz Air is reinforcing its focus on scalable cabin solutions that balance passenger comfort with efficiency, a combination that continues to shape the evolution of the low-cost carrier model.
