flyadeal selects Geven and Jiatai seats for new A330 widebody fleet

flyadeal will introduce a two-class A330-900neo cabin featuring Geven Premium Economy and Jiatai Economy seating as it expands into long-haul operations
flyadeal has confirmed its seating suppliers for a new fleet of A330-900neo aircraft, marking a key step in the airline’s planned entry into long-haul operations.
The Saudi carrier will introduce a two-class configuration on the aircraft, featuring 406 Economy and 14 Premium Economy seats, as it prepares to take delivery of its first A330 in 2027.
For the Premium Economy cabin, flyadeal has selected Geven and its Comoda AQ seat, designed for medium- to long-haul travel. The cabin will be arranged in a 2-3-2 layout across two rows, offering a 38-inch pitch and 8-inch recline to enhance passenger comfort and personal space.
In Economy Class, the airline has chosen Jiatai, marking the supplier’s debut in the Middle East market. The customised seats will be configured in a 3-3-3 layout with a pitch of up to 30 inches, focusing on cabin density while maintaining passenger comfort.
Built for long-haul efficiency and comfort
The A330 interiors will include ergonomic, reclinable seating designed for flights of more than 11 hours, alongside features such as adjustable headrests, USB-C charging ports and ambient lighting aimed at improving the onboard experience.
Sanjiv Kapoor, Executive Vice President of Strategies at Saudia Group and Acting CEO of flyadeal, said the cabin design reflects a balance between comfort, efficiency and sustainability.
“The interiors have been carefully chosen with passenger comfort, space, weight, durability, sustainability and ambience central to our decisions,” he said.
Expanding into widebody operations
The move represents a strategic shift for flyadeal, which has traditionally operated an all-economy narrowbody fleet. The introduction of widebody aircraft and a Premium Economy product signals the airline’s ambition to expand into long-haul markets across Asia, Europe and Africa.
“We like to do things differently,” Kapoor added. “This is a unique approach as a low-cost airline entering the widebody market with dedicated aircraft while maintaining competitiveness and enhancing the customer experience.”
Alongside seating, flyadeal has selected Safran Cabin to supply customised galleys, while Lantal Textiles will provide carpets and curtains, extending its existing relationship with the airline.
With deliveries set to begin in summer 2027, the A330 program is expected to play a central role in flyadeal’s growth strategy, supporting its goal to expand its network and fleet to more than 100 destinations and aircraft by 2030.
