China Southern Airlines receives first Airbus aircraft equipped with RISE power
China Southern Airlines has received the first aircraft delivery from Airbus with Burrana’s RISE Power system.
The program will see RISE Power installed across at least 37 aircraft with deliveries scheduled from 2025 to 2028.

RISE Power will be seamlessly integrated into the Jiatai JT220 series seats, delivering modern power options for all passengers. The USB-C 60W specification ensures high-powered, rapid, and reliable charging for personal electronic devices, including laptops, enhancing passenger comfort and eliminating charging concerns on even the longest flights.
Burrana’s RISE Power offers:
• A seat box is comparable to the size of an iPhone, with no intrusion into passenger legroom
• A light weight, as low as 200g per seat, helping reduce fuel burn and CO₂ emissions by up to 30 percent
• First-to-market 15W USB-A, with 50 percent faster charging and easy USB-C upgrades
• Intelligent Power Management, real-time data capture and port-level control for new revenue streams
With close to 500 aircraft selected globally, the RISE Power system is fully compatible with both retrofit and linefit applications and is available in the A320 family BFE Catalogue as a selectable ISPS option.
