The new Business Class suites revealed at the Dubai Airshow

Etihad Airways is showcasing the first of three 787-9 Dreamliners with a new interior that are set to join its fleet. The aircraft features Business Class suites with privacy doors and streamlined Economy seats.

The airline put its Business suites on display at the Dubai Airshow this week as it celebrated 20 years. The 787-9 Dreamliner featuring doored Business Class suites showcase enhancements to 32 Business Class seats and 271 Economy seats.

“These new aircraft are fundamental in helping us to achieve the ambitious plans we have already set into motion to expand our fleet and connect more guests more conveniently to a greater number of destinations,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer, Etihad Airways. “As we do this, we’ll give our guests an inflight experience that exceeds their expectations.”

Passengers flying in Business Class will enjoy spacious doored suites in Etihad’s signature style with a customized version of the Elements seat manufactured by Collins. Etihad is the first airline in the world to introduce the Elements seat aboard the 787.

The seats offer passengers lots of space and additional comforts afforded by the privacy of being able to close the door to the suite. There is also an increased suite height for more headroom, further enhancing the sense of spaciousness.

The 32 Business seats have direct aisle access and recline to a fully lie-flat bed with a 78- inch length. Each seat in the Business cabin also has a 17.3-inch 4K TV screen, Bluetooth headphone pairing, wireless charging and multiple charging ports.

Passengers traveling in Economy on the 787-9 Dreamliner will experience lighter seats that make the aircraft more fuel-efficient. There are 244 standard seats and 27 Economy Space seats which offer four inches of additional legroom. The seats also have a slimmer profile to create a sense of spaciousness for each passenger.

Beyond the seating experience, passengers on Etihad Airways’ 787 Dreamliner can enjoy the latest inflight entertainment technology from Safran with Rave Ultra 13.3-inch 4K touch-screen monitors. They also have the option to pair personal phones and tablets to the screen to use as a remote.

The aircraft is also fitted with Viasat’s Ka-band connectivity solution, offering passengers high-speed Wi-Fi with streaming capabilities onboard. They can also watch Live TV.

Through Etihad’s Wi-Fly, all Etihad Guest members can enjoy complimentary chat packages. All passengers have the option to purchase a Surf package with unlimited data for the duration of the flight.
