STELIA Aerospace and Air France unveiled the airline’s latest long-haul Business seat earlier this month at AIX in Hamburg, Germany. Exclusively designed for Air France, the seat (OPERA®’s widebody version) transforms into a bed almost two metres long.

“As a France-based company, STELIA Aerospace is proud to have the French national carrier as its launch customer for this new, innovative and luxurious seat. We are thrilled to support Air France in its constant will to offer the best standards of comfort and prestige to its passengers”, said Thierry Kanengieser, VP Cabin Interior STELIA Aerospace in a June release.

Key design features include direct aisle access for all passengers, a sliding door and a 20-inch 4K Ultra High-Definition screen equipped with a Bluetooth connection. A touchpad screen allows passengers to browse IFE offerings easily. WiFi is available inflight as well as pairing the screen with personal devices. For seats in the centre of the cabin, a central panel can be lowered to share the space if desired. Materials used include: wool, brushed aluminum and full-grain French leather.
