STG Aerospace launches "eco everything" concept at AIX 2025

STG Aerospace's "eco everything" saf-Tglo in four widths
STG Aerospace is introducing its "eco everything" concept at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2025 in Hamburg, Germany this week.
Building on the success of the saf-Tglo® eco E1™, the world’s first sustainable emergency floor path marking system launched at AIX 2024, STG Aerospace has taken its learnings to expand these principles across its photoluminescent range by the end of this year, making eco solutions accessible to all customers. This will apply across all four widths of saf-Tglo® SSUL-X™ (11mm, 18mm, 23mm and 36mm), offering airlines a versatile and eco-conscious option.
"Eco everything" combines performance with sustainability. This development is set to increase STG Aerospace's track recycled content from 50 percent to more than 80 percent, with a future goal being 100 percent. All recycled materials are ISCC certified and a bio additive ensures the elimination of forever plastics.
By building on sustainability across its emergency floor path marking system ranges, STG is supporting the aviation industry’s push towards net zero by 2050.
Business Unit Director, Dr. Sean O’Kell said: "We are making eco the standard for all our photoluminescent products to help airlines and OEMs achieve the shared and urgent goal of net zero. We have also reviewed our packaging and made that more sustainable too. By aligning our expertise with sustainability, we’re playing our part in driving the shift towards a greener future for aviation. We are proud to have saf-Tglo® products operating on more than 10,000 aircraft with 300 airlines. And we are excited to offer our customers more sustainable products that will not compromise on safety or the cabin aesthetic.”
To support the "eco everything" concept, STG is extending its existing ecologi collaboration. For every length of sustainable saf-Tglo SSUL-X sold, ecologi will help plant one tree. Ecologi provides a global platform to plant real trees online and track them via satellite.
STG Aerospace will also showcase products from Heads Up Technologies, including the latest Passenger Briefing System and premium cabin audio options at AIX 2025 at Stand 5D69.
