ABC International finalizes cabin refurbishment project for Electra Airways’ A320

Electra Airways' refurbished cabin
Aviation Business Consultants International (ABC International) has successfully completed a major project enhancing the interiors of two Electra Airways’ A320 aircraft by designing, certifying and manufacturing several cabin elements, the July 23 press release said.
The project has seen the delivery of all components, including five branding elements, two curtain kits, two carpet kits, A4 folders for informative /ADV display and an interior placard kit.
“Our focus was on ensuring that every element met the stringent requirements for airworthiness while being aesthetically pleasing and easy to install. The main challenge was incorporating all the elements harmoniously within the cabin by following customer design guidelines. The collaboration for the A320 aircraft involved detailed technical drawings and specifications necessary for final certification,” said Olindo Spatola, Vice President of Engineering and HDO at ABC International.
This project follows a 2023 collaboration with Electra Airways, where ABC International worked on an Emergency Equipment Layout modification (EEL) for the airline.
“The project presented significant challenges due to the involvement of multiple companies and suppliers. We undertook the replacement of numerous interior components based on Airbus design, including brand new ACRO Series 9 seats, carpets, and curtains manufactured by Lantal and tailored by ABC, Floor Path Markings (FPM), seat track covers, and a new branding element also manufactured by ABC. The certification of all these changes in a single Service Bulletin (SB) was a complex task. However, ABC achieved this successfully and on time. We are pleased with the outcome and will proceed with similar modifications for five more aircraft this winter,” said Ivan Ivanov, CAMO Manager of Electra Airways about the work done by ABC International.
Rodolfo Baldascino, CCO of ABC International, address the cabin refurbishment process by highlighting the importance and complexity of these projects.
He said: “Cabin requirements have become increasingly complex. Through synergy with our partners and a sophisticated supply chain, ABC International can manage this complexity to create high-quality, flight-suitable products covering the entire cabin. We are extremely keen on the partnership with Electra and look forward to extending it to the upcoming aircraft joining their fleet by the end of 2024. Solid and long-term ‘customer-supplier’ relationships are a crucial source of added value to guarantee a durable competitive advantage for our airline customers.”
