Air New Zealand reveals 777-300ER cabin upgrade plans
Air New Zealand’s refreshed 777-300ER Business Premier cabin will feature 44 Collins Elevation seats in a reverse-herringbone layout
Air New Zealand has revealed plans to retrofit its 777-300ER fleet with new Business Premier and Economy Class interiors, with the first aircraft expected to enter service in May 2027.
The program will bring the wide-body fleet more closely in line with the carrier’s retrofitted 787-9 Dreamliners, while extending the aircraft’s service life and reducing maintenance requirements associated with the current cabin product.
“Our current Business Premier and Economy cabins have served us exceptionally well since we welcomed the first 777-300ER into our fleet in late 2010, however the time is right to raise the bar once again,” said Jeremy O’Brien, Air New Zealand’s Chief Customer & Digital Officer.
Business Premier will retain 44 seats but move to a reverse-herringbone configuration with Collins Elevation seats, privacy doors, 18-inch inflight entertainment screens and Bluetooth connectivity. Economy will receive new ZIM seats, 13-inch screens, Bluetooth audio and USB-C charging, while its seat count will increase by two to 246.
Premium Economy will remain unchanged following its recent refresh, although two seats will be removed to accommodate the updated overall cabin layout.
