HAECO Americas opened its latest hangar at Piedmont Triad International (PTI) Airport today, near the company's Greensboro, North Carolina-based head office.

The hangar is HAECO's fifth and largest, costing US$60 million and with enough space to employ 500 aircraft technicians and staff (250,000 square feet).

Richard Kendall, CEO of HAECO Americas, said in a release: “This hangar is a testament to the incredible pace of growth our company has seen over the past year, and we are proud to showcase it to our community. Our parent company has recognized the excellent progress our team has made and the significant opportunity this additional capacity creates. This investment allows us to strengthen our team, bring jobs to our community and take on larger, more complex projects in the future.”

Up to eight next-gen narrow-body aircraft can be serviced in the hangar, or two next-gen wide body and two next-gen narrow body. An April 24 statement from HAECO noted that the hangar will also receive a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified rating, "in keeping with HAECO’s commitment to its sustainability goals."
