Recaro’s new Final Assembly Line (FAL) at its Schwaebisch Hall headquarters, is now open after a 15-month construction

Recaro Aircraft Seating has unveiled a new streamlined design for its Final Assembly Line (FAL).

The project is the latest phase of the company’s global space2grow expansion strategy, which has been integrated into the long-term strategy for Recaro’s five global manufacturing facilities. Recaro established the space2grow initiative in 2018 to invest in new building production space.

The approximately, 11,000 square meters of renovated space features 350 m of conveyor technology for the seats, 60 percent power savings through LED lighting, and an expanded canteen and coffee lounge. More than 4 million were invested in the project.

Planning for the new FAL design first began in 2017. Construction took 15 months and was completed in January 2023.

Speaking at an inauguration event held on March 2 and attended by nearly 100 suppliers, VIPs and RECARO colleagues, Dr. Mark Hiller, Recaro CEO commented, “Today was a celebration of many months of hard work and dedication from my colleagues who believe in the importance of customer-centric manufacturing,” said. “Technology is a driving force in our industry and it’s important for Recaro to be a pioneer in lean production, so we can better serve our customers.”
