Air China A350 takes flight with Recaro seating
Working together, Air China and Recaro have customized the lie-flat business seat
The first Air China A350 aircraft featuring a lie-flat Business Class seat from Recaro has made its first flight from Beijing to Chengdu.
The “minisuite in the sky” was first unveiled in 2020. The Air China customized seat includes a Chinese-style lamp in each suite, upper stowage with a uniquely-crafted drawer, specially-made privacy dividers, and an Air China customized inner soft-touch back-shell.
According to a January 23 company press release, Recaro and Air China worked together to carry out a significant comfort enhancement and functional optimization plans, incorporating feedback from both design teams.
“The new CL6720 entering into service for the first time in Asia is a special moment for Recaro,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating in the press release. “We enjoyed our close collaboration with Air China on this program, and it resulted in a unique seating product that will be appreciated by so many travelers. Although we take great pride in the hard work that goes into our seat designs, we always remember that it is the passengers who drive our innovations forward.”
Recaro has also equipped the A350’s premium economy cabin with PL3530 seating and economy cabin with its CL3710 seat.
