Queenstown Airport opens new Airspresso Café outlet

By Tanya Filippelli

Airspresso Café is the latest restaurant to open at Queenstown Airport in New Zealand.

Airspresso Café Queenstown will be the second outlet opened by business partners Jim Hickey and Craig Macfarlane after finding success with their first Airspresso outlet at New Plymouth Airport.

“It’s even better than what we imagined. We’re really proud of what our team has achieved and we’d like to thank everyone who’s worked so hard to get us to this day, from the designers and builders to our new team of staff, " Hickey said.

The café features a four-sided open plan kitchen offering freshly served food from its à la carte menu as well as coffee and snacks from a fully licensed bar.

Airspresso Café has also been designed with an alternative décor including wood paneling, leather booths, bench seats made from skis and aviation themed glass topped tables.

Debra Clarke, Qantas duty manager, said, “I haven’t seen anything like it around New Zealand. It’s got real personality and obviously a lot of thought has gone into the theming to ensure it reflects the feel of our airport and the region.”
