SAS plans fall economy seat modifications

SAS will modify 5,000 economy class seats with kits from RecaroScandinavian Airlines is modifying the economy class seats model BL3520 from Recaro Aircraft Seating for approximately 40 aircraft of its fleet, the company reported. Recaro will supply the parts for SAS‘ modification project as early as fall 2017.

SAS has ordered modification kits for approximately 5,000 economy class seats of the model BL3520 from Recaro Aircraft Seating. The aircraft seats will be upgraded with USB power.

“We appreciate the good collaboration with Recaro Aircraft Seating. With this modification we can offer our passengers outstanding comfort on our short-haul fleet,“ explains Per Tidéus, Product Manager Cabin Interior at SAS in today's announcement.

The multiple award-winning aircraft seat BL3520 from Recaro has come to be a classic in the aviation industry and has been ordered in a six-figure volume since its market launch. The economy class seat is one of the most successful products in the portfolio Recaro. It convinces with its combination of lightweight design, comfort and optimization of space. Additional modifications can be easily implemented in the BL3520, enabling a flexible customization to the customer’s needs.
