Norduyn to unveil its duty-free trolleys at AIX

By Tanya Filippelli

Norduyn has announced it will unveil a new line of duty-free trolleys during the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg in April.

The designer and manufacturer of light weight products for the aviation industry has developed a line of trolleys that offers enhanced security in terms of track and tracing capability.

“When we heard that robbery of duty-free trolleys were costing some airlines over two million (US) dollars in lost revenue per year, this inspired us to come up with a solution which integrates solid state construction and technology. Our all composite trolleys are perfect for integrating radio-frequency identification devices enabling to track and trace real time all duty-free trolleys and their high value content through the airline’s sometimes very complex network,” said Patrick Phillips, Vice President of sales at Norduyn.

According to Phillips, the new line of trolleys is the most difficult to burglarize with its testing exceeding the most stringent performance criteria.

“These trolleys will be on display at this year’s Hamburg Aircraft Interiors show and we invite anyone concerned about reducing losses of commercial items for sale due to theft to come and visit us,” added Phillips.
