Collins Aerospace acquires FlightAware
Collins Aerospace has completed the acquisition of FlightAware
Collins Aerospace has acquired FlightAware, a digital aviation company providing global flight tracking solutions, predictive technology, analytics and decision-making tools.
FlightAware, led by James Sulak, will be part of the company’s newly formed Connected Aviation Solutions business unit which will be exclusively focused on advancing Collins’ connected ecosystem solutions.
“Across the industry we serve, we are focused on helping our customers turn data into value, enabling them to increase efficiency and reduce cost while improving the sustainability of their operations,” said Stephen Timm, President of Collins Aerospace, in a November 16 press release.
Timm said the unit combines the best of Collin’s aircraft systems with established data networks and connectivity solutions.
“This delivers the potential to reduce unplanned maintenance, improve dispatch reliability, and to know exactly when the plane will be on the runway or at the terminal to keep flight schedules on time,” said Jennifer Schopfer, President of Collins’ Connected Aviation Solutions.
