Safran makes accessible IFE designs available to the industry
Ben Asmar, Vice President of Products and Strategy at Safran Passenger Innovations at AIX 2025
Safran Passenger Innovations (SPI) announced today the release of its final designs for Accessible Inflight Entertainment (IFE), initially unveiled at last year's Aircraft Interiors Expo. These innovative designs will be made available to the entire industry at no cost, reinforcing SPI's commitment to inclusivity in air travel.
“Accessible IFE is grounded in our dedication to simplifying user interfaces and highlighting essential functions, enabling individuals with disabilities to effortlessly navigate and enjoy the entertainment system,” said Ben Asmar, Vice President of Products and Strategy at Safran Passenger Innovations. “A pivotal takeaway from our development process was the importance of consistency. By implementing these designs across the industry, we have an opportunity to create a meaningful impact and significantly enhance access to IFE for all passengers.”
With this initiative, SPI aims to lead the charge in making air travel more equitable, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their abilities, can fully engage with Inflight Entertainment offerings.
