Air Canada joins forces with Apple TV+

Air Canada has unveiled a new partnership with Apple TV+, becoming the second airline globally and the first in Canada to offer original Apple TV+ programming on its flights.
Since August 1, 2023, passengers have been enjoying acclaimed series like Ted Lasso, Bad Sisters, and Foundation among others.
“At Air Canada, we know that inflight entertainment is an important part of our customers’ travel journey, particularly on long-haul flights. We continually evaluate opportunities to expand our entertainment and introduce exclusive, current content that our customers will love. We look forward to welcoming customers onboard to catch up on their favourite Apple TV+ shows or discover new hits during their flight,” said John Moody, Managing Director of Product Design at Air Canada, in an August 1 press release. “This new partnership with Apple puts us on track to increase our onboard entertainment content by more than 95 percent since last year. We look forward to introducing even more entertainment before the end of 2023.”
Having secured numerous accolades, including being named Best Airline for Onboard Entertainment by Global Traveler and receiving the Passenger Choice Award for Best Entertainment in North America from APEX, Air Canada continues to set new standards. With over 2,500 hours of content, the inflight entertainment has been expanded significantly, doubling last year’s offerings. The partnership with Apple comes on the heels of a recent collaboration with Mattel to introduce popular kids’ content.
Further enhancing its services, Air Canada, in collaboration with Bell, introduced free messaging for Aeroplan members worldwide on Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft, catering to passengers’ communication needs. Additionally, Air Canada stands out as the sole Canadian carrier offering live Canadian TV, giving travellers the opportunity to catch live news and global sports events.
