Moment adds IFE platform to Malaysia Airlines fleet
Moment has partnered with Malaysia Airlines to install its inflight entertainment platform, Flymingo Connect, aboard its 737-800 aircraft.
Embedding technologies such as 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, and IoT gateways, Flymingo Connect allows airlines to provide in-cabin connected services, enhance digitalization, and automate aircraft operations. Developed for all types of aircraft, this patented system enables high capacity performance and reliability in high-density environments.
Tanguy Morel, CEO and Co-Founder of Moment, said in a December 1 press release that Moment is proud to work with Malaysia Airlines as a launch customer for the integration of Flymingo Connect or its narrow-body fleet.
“In a digital-geared context, we are committed to working alongside airlines to enable them to provide a truly connected cabin experience,” said Morel.
Moment is scheduled to roll out pilot tests on this IFE portal starting in January 2022 on selected aircraft on Malaysia Airlines’ 737-800 fleet.
Upon successful trials, Malaysia Airlines will deploy this throughout its entire 737-800 fleet, offering entertainment streaming, real-time travel information, and a seamless e-commerce platform.
“We are particularly attentive to new technologies creating a contactless journey while making the cabin more comfortable and our passengers entertained with a series of new onboard services and an extensive library of the latest media content on our MHstudio entertainment portal,” said Lau Yin May, Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Malaysia Airlines.
May said in the release the Flymingo Connect system empowers Malaysia Airlines to deliver market-leading onboard services, elevate the passenger’s onboard experience, build customer loyalty, and increase ancillary revenue.
