Middle East Airlines has installed Panasonic Avionics’ Live Television service on nine of its A321neoLR aircraft

Middle East Airlines (MEA) has started a two-month trial of Panasonic Avionics’ Live Television service. The service rolled out on MEAs fleet of nine A321neoLR aircraft in early October.

We are delighted to extend our partnership with Middle East Airlines and to enhance the inflight experience they provide by bringing live news and the worlds best sporting action to their passengers,” said Andrew Mohr, Vice President of Digital Solutions for Panasonic Avionics, in an October 13 press release.

The service lets travelers watch news channels including BBC World and CNN International, along with live sporting action in partnership with Sport 24. Sport 24 is provided exclusively by Panasonic Avionics and is the worlds first and only live inflight sports platform, broadcasting live content from more than 30 global sports leagues 24-hours a day.

Some of the channels available include the NFL, NBA, NHL, all four Tennis Grand Slams, all four Golf Majors, the NRL, the UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, Bundesliga, and more.

Panasonic Avionics is a proven partner for MEA,” said Houssam Moghrabi, Head of Inflight Services at MEA. The trial of their Live Television service is a natural step following the installation of their state-of-the-art inflight entertainment and connectivity systems last year, which has been well received by our passengers.”

The service is powered by Panasonic Avionicsinflight connectivity services and broadcast through its eX1 inflight entertainment platform, both of which were launched on the airlines A321neoLR fleet in 2020. eX1 is designed specifically for narrow-body aircraft and offers full HD seatback monitors, complete with touch displays and handsets, and a personalized interface.
