Delta Air Lines to expand free Delta Sync Wi-Fi across trans-Pacific routes
Delta prepares to expand its free Delta Sync Wi-Fi service across trans-Pacific routes
Delta Air Lines has received regulatory approval to expand its fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi service across trans-Pacific routes, bringing the airline closer to offering complimentary connectivity throughout its global network.
The rollout is set to begin later this month, with service expanding progressively across additional routes in the following weeks.
With nearly 1,300 Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft already in operation, representing more than 95 per cent of its fleet, Delta is approaching the final stage of its global connectivity expansion.
The trans-Pacific rollout will extend high-speed internet access to some of the airline's longest international flights, allowing passengers to stream content, work, send messages and access online services throughout their journey.
Once activated across the Pacific, Delta says it will become the only U.S. global carrier to offer free Wi-Fi across its worldwide network, spanning six continents.
The expansion reflects Delta's continued investment in onboard connectivity as passenger expectations for seamless digital experiences continue to evolve.
With travellers increasingly expecting access to the same digital services available on the ground, inflight connectivity has become an important part of the passenger experience, particularly on long-haul routes.
Delta's investment in Delta Sync Wi-Fi is part of its broader strategy to create a more connected and personalized journey, giving passengers greater flexibility in how they spend their time onboard.
The trans-Pacific expansion also builds on the airline's ongoing investments in inflight entertainment and digital services, supporting a more consistent experience across its domestic and international operations.
With regulatory approval secured, Delta is preparing to complete the final stage of its Wi-Fi expansion, bringing complimentary connectivity to passengers travelling across its global network.
