Virgin Atlantic rolls out high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi across its fleet

Virgin Atlantic is accelerating the rollout of Starlink connectivity across its fleet, bringing free, high-speed Wi-Fi to passengers as part of a wider push to create a fully connected onboard experience.

The airline will begin installing Starlink on its A350 fleet early next month, with all A350 aircraft expected to be equipped by early summer. The first customer flight featuring the new service is scheduled to operate from London Heathrow to New York JFK in early May.

Following the A350 rollout, installations will extend to the airline’s 787 and A330neo fleets, with full fleet connectivity targeted by 2027.

Virgin Atlantic first announced its partnership with Starlink in July 2025, becoming the first U.K. airline to commit to free, fleet-wide high-speed Wi-Fi. Powered by a Low Earth Orbit satellite network, the system delivers high-speed, low-latency internet, enabling reliable connectivity across global routes, including remote regions.

The service will be available at no cost to Flying Club members and is designed to replicate a “home away from home” connectivity experience. Passengers will be able to stream content, browse the internet, work, game and stay connected with friends and family throughout the flight, using multiple personal devices simultaneously.

“We were the first U.K. airline to announce free, fleet-wide Starlink Wi-Fi, and from May, we are starting to deliver it for our customers,” said CCO Juha Jaervinen. “Together with Starlink, we are setting a new standard for connectivity in the skies.”

Virgin Atlantic says the introduction of Starlink supports its broader strategy to enhance the passenger experience through seamless digital connectivity, enabling customers to stay productive, entertained and connected from boarding through to arrival.
